How to Become a Naturopathy Doctor (BNYS - Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences)?

To become a Naturopathy Doctor, one must complete a Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS) degree. This course focuses on natural healing methods like diet therapy, herbal medicine, yoga, acupuncture, and lifestyle management.


Step 1: Choose the Right Subjects After 10th Standard

After 10th standard, a student must choose the Science stream with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). The required subjects are:
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
English and Hindi (compulsory for many universities)

📌 Mathematics is optional, but some institutes may consider it as an additional qualification.


Step 2: Complete 12th Standard with PCB

In 11th & 12th standard, students must study:
Physics 
Chemistry 
Biology 
English 

Minimum Requirement: 50% marks in PCB  in 12th board exams.


Step 3: Pass the Entrance Exam for BNYS Admission

For admission into BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences), students may need to qualify for an entrance exam.

📌 Entrance Exams for BNYS Admission:

  1. NEET-UG (Some institutes require it)
  2. State-Level Medical Entrance Exams (in some states)
  3. University-Specific Exams (conducted by private naturopathy colleges)

However, some institutes offer direct admission based on 12th standard marks (merit-based admission).


Step 4: Get Admission into BNYS Course

Once you qualify for the entrance exam or meet merit-based criteria, you can apply for BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences).

📌 Course Duration: 5.5 years (4.5 years academic + 1-year internship)



Step 5: Register & Practice as a Naturopathy Doctor

After completing BNYS, graduates can:
Work as Naturopathy Doctors in wellness centers, hospitals, or private clinics.
Open their own Naturopathy & Yoga Clinic.
Work in Ayush Ministry, Research, or Teaching.
Pursue higher studies like MD in Naturopathy or Yoga Therapy.
