How to Become an Allopathic Doctor (MBBS Doctor)?

To become an Allopathic Doctor (MBBS), a student must complete scientific education, qualify for entrance exams, and complete medical training. Below is a step-by-step guide.


Step 1: Choose the Right Subjects After 10th Standard

After the 10th standard, a student must take the Science stream with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). The required subjects are:
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
English (compulsory for many exams)
📌 Mathematics is optional but can be helpful in entrance exams.


Step 2: Complete 12th Standard with PCB

In 11th & 12th standard, focus on:
🔹 Physics
🔹 Chemistry
🔹 Biology
🔹 English & Hindi – Language skills (some universities require it)

Minimum Requirement: At least 50% marks in PCB in the 12th board exams.


Step 3: Pass the Medical Entrance Test (NEET-UG)

To get admission into MBBS, students in India must pass the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate).

Subjects in NEET-UG Exam

📌 NEET-UG covers subjects:
Physics (Class 11 & 12 level)
Chemistry (Class 11 & 12 level)
Biology (Class 11 & 12 level - Botany & Zoology)


NEET is mandatory for MBBS admission in India (including AIIMS).


Step 4: Get Admission into MBBS Program

Once you qualify NEET-UG, you can apply for MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) in Government & Private Medical Colleges.

Duration of MBBS

📌 5.5 Years (4.5 years academic + 1-year internship)


After MBBS, one can go for MD/MS (Postgraduate specialization) or practice as a General Physician.
