How to Become a Homeopathy Doctor (BHMS - Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)?

To become a Homeopathy Doctor, a student must complete a BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) degree, which is a 5.5-year course including homeopathic medicine, modern medical sciences, and an internship.


Step 1: Choose the Right Subjects After 10th Standard

After 10th standard, a student must opt for the Science stream with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). The required subjects are:
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
English and Hindi (compulsory for many universities)

📌 Mathematics is optional, but it is not required for BHMS admission.


Step 2: Complete 12th Standard with PCB

In 11th & 12th standard, students must study:
Physics 
Chemistry 
Biology 
English 

📌 Minimum Requirement: At least 50% marks in PCB  in the 12th board exams.


Step 3: Pass the NEET-UG Entrance Exam

For admission into BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery), students must qualify for NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate).

Subjects in NEET-UG Exam

📌 NEET-UG covers 4 subjects:
Physics (Class 11 & 12 level)
Chemistry (Class 11 & 12 level)
Biology (Class 11 & 12 level - Botany & Zoology)

📌 NEET is mandatory for BHMS admission in India.


Step 4: Get Admission into BHMS Course

Once you qualify for NEET-UG, you can apply for BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) in Government & Private Homeopathy Colleges.

📌 Course Duration: 5.5 years (4.5 years academic + 1-year internship)



Step 5: Register & Practice as a Homeopathy Doctor

After completing BHMS, graduates can:
Work as Homeopathy Doctors in hospitals, wellness centers, or private clinics.
Open their own Homeopathy Clinic.
Work in Government AYUSH Hospitals, Research, or Teaching.
Pursue higher studies like MD in Homeopathy or specialized diploma courses.
